Julia-Silvana Hofstetter is a Senior Advisor at the ICT4Peace Foundation. She advises the foundation on digital peacebuilding, disinformation and hate-speech in armed conflict, humanitarian data governance, and cybersecurity & gender. She is also a Technology & Human Rights Fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School and President of Women in International Security (WIIS) Switzerland. She previously served as a Non-Resident Research Fellow within the AI Security Initiative at UC Berkeley’s Center for Long-Term Cybersecurity (CLTC), as an advisory group member at Chatham House for a project on Cybersecurity & Gender, as Co-Head of the Peace & Security Program at the Swiss Forum on Foreign Policy (foraus) and worked for the Center for Security Studies (CSS) at ETH Zurich, the Geneva Center for Security Policy (GCSP), the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA), and the Department of Political Science at the University of Zurich. As an independent consultant she previously advised organizations such as the ICRC, NATO, and the US Department of State on issues of international security and emerging technologies. Julia holds a MA in International Relations and Political Science from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies (IHEID) Geneva and a BA in Political Science from the University of Zurich.
