On behalf of ICT4Peace and the Zurich Hub for Ethics and Technology (ZHET), Daniel Stauffacher participated again at the “Garmisch 2018: 12th International Forum on Information Security” on 17 April 2018. This Forum was hosted by the Moscow University in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and included participants from Russia, Korea, China, US, UK, Ireland, Estonia, Germany, Finland, to mention a few.
ICT4Peace Senior Advisors Dr. Eneken Tikk and Dr. Mika Kerttunen also participated.
The goal of the Forum was to find common grounds and approaches among expert community on the following topical issues of International Information Security:
- Frameworks for the implementation of norms, rules and principles for responsible behavior of the States in the ICT environment.
- Challenges of countering the use of ICTs for military and political purposes.
- Challenges of implementation of public-private partnership in the field of ensuring the security of critical infrastructure of society.
- Challenges of ensuring the “digital sovereignty” of the States.
- The impact of ICT factors on strategic stability.
