ICT4Peace moderated Panel on Norms for Peace and Security in Cyberspace at Wuzhen Summit – World Internet Conference (WIC)
ICT4Peace’s Daniel Stauffacher was invited to join the World Internet Conference in Wuzhen in China to moderate a Panel Discussion on “Assessment of current International Norms in Cyberspace”. The distinguished speakers and participants included Prof. Noyoung Park, Korea, Luigi Gambardella, ChinaEU, Lu Chuanying, Shanghai Institute of International Studies, Pablo Hinojosa, APNIC, Prof. Huang Zhixiong, Wuhan University, Bruce McConnell, East-West Institute, Neil Walsh, UNODC Vienna, Maemura Akinori, ICANN, Jim Lewis, CSIS, Ms. Jing de Jong-Chen, Microsoft.
The Meeting was organised, by the China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations (CICIR), with the support of the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences and Wuhan University. The Meeting was chaired by Prof. Ji Zhiye, President of CICIR.

ICT4Peace experts have since 2007 been calling for a global framework of norms of responsible behaviour and confidence building measures in cyberspace. In 2011 ICT4Peace launched a call for a code of conduct in cyberspace in the Neue Zürcher Zeitung (NZZ) and published the widely acclaimed paper “Getting down to business: Realistic goals for the promotion of peace in cyber-space“.
In July 2012, again in the Neue Zürcher Zeitung, ICT4Peace published an op-ed called “Disarmament Negotiations for the Cyberspace are needed”.
In June 2013 ICT4Peace published a paper “The dramatic rise of cyber-attacks: What are Governments doing about it ?”.
Subsequently ICT4Peace published inter alia these three papers to support the UN GGE and OSCE, ARF etc. processes on norms and confidence building measures in cyberspace:

In parallel, ICT4Peace has been conducting since 2014 Cybersecurity Policy and Diplomacy capacity building programmes in five continents across the world.
