“Peter Grütter, the long-serving president of the Swiss Telecommunications Association (Asut), has significantly influenced Switzerland’s ICT sector. Over his 12-year tenure, Grütter promoted initiatives to enhance digital infrastructure, cybersecurity, and smart networks in the country. Under his leadership, Asut has become a key advocate for ICT industry interests in politics and public policy, focusing on strengthening competitive and regulatory frameworks to support digital transformation. Asut has also contributed to resilient and sustainable digital systems across energy, transportation, and logistics, aiding Swiss industry in adapting to a rapidly evolving tech landscape.

One of Grütter’s notable achievements was Asut’s collaboration with Swiss industry groups to support “Industry 2025,” a platform guiding companies through digitalization and Industry 4.0 standards, ultimately fostering smart production and innovation. His focus on network resilience has also been crucial, emphasizing the need for secure, adaptive systems amid growing cyber threats. Grütter has been recognized for his contributions to the UN’s “Making Cities Resilient” campaign, which applies ICT solutions to enhance urban disaster preparedness.”
