On 6 November 2019 Stephen Goose, Director of Human Rights Watch’s Arms Division gave a lecture at ETH on “Loosing Humanity: The Human Rights Implications of Killer Robots” and presented the “Campaign to stop Killer Robots”
Stephen Goose and Human Rights Watch co-founded the International Campaign to Ban Landmines (ICBL), which received the 1997 Nobel Peace Prize. In 2013, he and Human Rights Watch co-founded the Campaign to Stop Killer Robots.
The discussion with Stephen was introduced and moderated by Regina Surber, Senior Advisor, ICT4Peace and the Zurich Hub for Ethics and Technology (ZHET). Regina is the author of the ICT4Peace publication: “AI, LAWS and Peace Time Threats” and the NZZ Article “Vier Forderungen zur Regulierung künstlicher Intelligenz” of 19. September 2018.
