ICT4Peace and the Zurich Hub for Ethics and Technology (ZHET) were honoured to welcome Prof. Ron Arkin for an informal workshop on Artificial Intelligence, Lethal Autonomous Weapons Systems (LAWS) and Peace Time Threats in St.Gallen on 5 Mai 2018. Ronald C. Arkin is the Regents’ Professor & Director of the Mobile Robot Laboratory, College of Computing, Georgia Institute of Technology, USA. Prof. Arkin is a well known Roboticist and has published extensively on LAWS and their ethical implications. A recent paper of his can be found here.
This meeting is part of a series of events organised and publications produced by ICT4Peace in cooperation with ZHET. The next event organised by ICT4Peace and ZHET will be an expert panel at RightsCon in Toronto on 16 May 2018 on AI, LAWS and Peace Time Threats.
