While the UN, ITU, UNESCO UNCTAD etc. are working on review process in view of WSIS plus 20 in 2025, please find below an article by Daniel Stauffacher, former Swiss Ambassador and Delegate of the Swiss Federal Council for WSIS Geneva 2003, and Founder of ICT4Peace , entitled: WSIS Geneva 2003 – “Tribute to Those Who Made it Happen”.
It is an acknowledgment of a collective effort by Senior Government officials, Business and Trade Union leaders, Academia, Media and Civil society that has brought about the WSIS Geneva Declaration and WSIS Geneva Plan of Action in 2003, the first ever UN World Summit with the mission to build an inclusive, development oriented, open, free and secure global Information Society.
